So after a week of showing Astrid's boys growing up and getting snatched up...


...I thought it was high time to show Astrid's reaction to all of these.


And I really love how Astrid came out this time.

Has anyone ever drawn mother-in-law Astrid before? I don't think so... so I call FIRST! First to draw middle-aged Camicazi, first to draw monster mother-in-law Astrid... what shall I do next?

As parents, I feel like Astrid and Hiccup would alternate in the 'hands off' approach. When it comes to getting hurt and taking chances, I think Hiccup would be more fretful while Astrid steps back and lets them learn from their mistakes. When it comes to making up their minds and forging their own path, I think Hiccup woudl encourage them to follow their hearts while Astrid tries to keep them more in-line with tradition and what's more socially acceptable.


Anyone who follows my future!Berk scenario knows it's Hiccup that gives Tsura a hard time. Eventually, when it becomes clear that she's here to stay and that Garik is going to marry her, he grudgingly accepts this. Tsura makes the mistake of letting her guard down... never realizing that quiet, piercing shadow that was Garik's mother has decided to make her own feelings on the matter known.

Tsura might be terrified by Astrid's posturing, but after twenty years of marriage Hiccup is not impressed.

He's only concerned about their furnature.
