The Vows

Hiccup and Astrid exchange their vows holding the hilt of one of their exchange swords. Astrid has her hair down and a bridal crown on. The altar's behind them but we can't really see anything but the sword on it. All the people and the gyðja are also out of frame. I wanted a nice sea-view angle.

I researched all about viking weddings on Viking Answer Lady... whom I love.


This is the lineart for a comicky page I'm drawing. The story behind that is kind of sad, but this is a happy moment in it. They're somewhere between eighteen or twenty years old here, I'm still working out the details of where this falls in CtL. Hiccup's probably gotten his final growth spurt of his life (just up, not out ), and Astrid's probably in her final years of slenderness .

Hmmm...I didn't give Hiccup any facial hair out of laziness. Should I add some? Or should he be clean-cut for his wedding?

So...line art! That means it's open for coloring if anyone wants to.
