To Beard or Not To Beard

requested some older, bearded/hair-downed/long-haired Hiccups. And I just had a field day drawing them.
Thanks for the idea!

1: Hiccup with a beard. He likes his beard. He feels pretty damn alpha with a beard. But Toothless, with his dragon math, decides Hiccup looks too much like a viking, and motions to veto the beard.

2: Toothless gets his way and makes Hiccup clean himself up. That includes tying his hair back. He likes a spiffy anti-viking on his back.

3: And then the Hiccup's-been-on-the-road/sky-way-too-long-and-has-neglected-his-hair take. Toothless is perplexed at how this happened right under his metrosexual nose.

Drawing the "thinking-pose" hand was so frustrating for me that I forgot to give the first Hiccup another shoulder. Whoops!
